The "Public Charge" Rule, particularly during the pandemic, has caused concern and anxiety among immigrant communities, hindering them from accessing necessary care and essential services due to fear of potential immigration consequences. DCF produced a multilingual campaign targeted towards these disadvantaged communities and immigrant populations, promoting city services available for everyone regardless of immigration status, ability to pay, or employment status, because everyone has the right to seek support without fear, especially during a public health crisis.
