Problem: Public opinion research shows that New Yorkers want to get involved in local politics, but don’t know their options or how it affects their day-to-day life. So how do we educate and rally residents to vote in New York City elections?
Our Impact: In 2017, we worked with NYC Votes and the New York City Campaign Finance Board to develop a citywide video, print and social media campaign, "Vote for the City You Want.” This multilingual campaign showcased diverse New Yorkers speaking out on their biggest regional issues and why their vote matters. This campaign was the first to promote the city's Voter Guide on the voting.nyc microsite. Since then, the campaign has been relaunched and customized to promote special elections like Public Advocate and Queens District Attorney.
